Board president Amy Billerbeck said the new solicitor would carry the district into the future. Billerebeck also thanked Bob Prorok for his excellent service, adding the district would continue to use Cohen & Grigsby as special council.

During the Aug. 12 meeting, the board approved the district’s personnel listings, pending receipt of paperwork and required clearances.

The board also approved the establishment of an ad hoc committee for board development and guidance. The ad hoc committee will include board members Barbara Bolas, chair, Jennifer Bowen and Dr. Daphna Gans.

During a capital projects update, board members were informed the third floor of the administrative/community building would be up and running for the September 6 football game and the stadium would be available for use for fall sports. District administrators are planning to move into their new offices Sept. 27.

The target date for the completion of the new pool at the high school is mid to late October.

In other business, Assistant Superintendent/Deputy Superintendent Dr. Sharon Suritsky reported on “No Place for Hate” a three-hour anti-bias training for staff. Dr. Suritsky said additional anti-bias efforts would continue at each school building throughout the school year.
