Safe Driver’s Course
LifeSpan, Inc.’s Bethel Park Senior Resource Center will offer a AARP Safe Driver’s Course from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 12. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for nonmembers. Space is limited. Call 412-831-7111 to sign up.
Bowling
LifeSpan Bethel Park will offer a Senior Bowling League from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 19, at Legacy Lanes on Curry Road. Cost of $15 per person includes three games of bowling, lunch and four bingo games. To register, call 412-831-7111 by April 12.
Active at Any Age
Spencer Family Y, Bethel Park, will offer Active at Any Age Health and Wellness programs from 1 to 2 p.m. the following Fridays: April 12 and 19, cards and games; April 26, Lunch and Learn with RSVP due by April 25. In addition to social sessions, the Y offers aqua classes, yoga, tai chi, cardio, strength, stretching and toning classes. Pre-Passover program
Chabad of the South Hills, Mt. Lebanon, will hold a Pre Passover Seniors Program at noon on April 9, featuring a model Seder. Suggested donation is $5. To preregister, call 412-278-2658.
Senior lunches
Peters Township Parks and Recreation offers senior lunches from noon to 2 p.m. the second Wednesday of each month, at the Community Recreation Center in Peterswood Park. Lunches include entertainment, a speaker or interactive activity. This is a free event, but attendees are asked to bring a covered dish or dessert to share. On April 10 there will be a springtime craft and bingo.
Hilltoppers meet
The Hilltoppers of Scott Township will hold its monthly meeting on April 10 at Covenant-Community Presbyterian Church, 1630 Greentree Road. Doors open at 11 a.m. for fellowship. Bring a brown bag lunch and beverage to eat at noon. After lunch and a brief business meeting, Caitlin Driscoll from the Better Business Bureau of Western PA will present “Scams Targeting Consumers.” New members are needed. Retired Men meet
The Retired Men’s Luncheon Group will meet on April 11 at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church, 199 Old Clairton Road, Pleasant Hills. Lunch will be served at noon. A senior luncheon and movie matinee will be held on April 16 at the Mt. Lebanon Rec Center, 2nd floor (Room A) for seniors and their adult guests (Mt. Lebanon residency is not required). Check-in is at 10:30 a.m. at the Rec office. The presentations “Osteoporosis Prevention & Positive Posture” and “Managing Pain and Avoiding Surgery” by Orthopedic and Sports Physical Therapy Associates, Inc. will take place at 11. A meal will be served at noon followed by a 50/50 raffle and movie at 1 p.m. on the big screen. Cost is $7 per person, due by noon on April 12. After that date the price increases to $9. Open house
Concordia of the South Hills will hold an education session and open house from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday and Monday, April 28 and 29, at its campus located at 1300 Bower Hill Road in Mt. Lebanon, near St. Clair Hospital. A brief education session on The Benefits of Affordable Retirement Living will be presented at 1 both days followed by tours of model apartments. Westminster Recreation & Outreach Center (WROC) at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Upper St. Clair, offers Chair Aerobics to Broadway Tunes (55+ Friendly), a low-impact chair exercise class, from 10 to 10:50 a.m. Wednesdays, through April 24.
