Vitalant will conduct a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 22 in the player locker room of Wild Things Park, 1 Washington Federal Way, North Franklin Township.
All donors will receive one voucher for two Washington Wild Things game tickets and will be invited to attend a Blood Donor Recognition Day at the park.
Appointment are recommended. To make an appointment, visit vitalant.org and click the “donate blood” button. On the new window, choose “donor login” (previous donor) or “new donor” (haven’t donated with Vitalant before), and search with group code Q037. A clothing drive to benefit the City Mission in Washington is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 27 at Center Presbyterian Church, 255 Center Church Road, Peters Township.
Donations should be separated for usable, for resale and for residents, and unusable clothing, which can be used for rags.
Volunteers will be on hand in the church parking like to take items from vehicles.
Peters Twp. concert
The 2020 summer concerts series at the Peterswood Park Amphitheater opens the band Buffalo Rose at 7 p.m. July 1.
Admission is free, and people of all ages are welcome. Social distancing and the use of masks are encouraged. The concerts continue each Wednesday in July and August.
Register for the upcoming hard-to-recycle collection event scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 18 at Bethel Park High School, 309 Church Road.
Items that can be recycled at no cost include cellular and home phones; computer towers and peripheral equipment; expanded polystyrene packaging material; glass bottles, jars and jugs; microwave ovens; stereo equipment; and VCRs, DVD players and cable boxes.
A fee will be charged to drop off fluorescent tubes, printers, small Freon appliances, and car and truck tires with or without rims. Fees of $20 will be charged to accept computer monitors, $30 for televisions and $40 for projection or console televisions.
These COVID-19 safety procedures will be in place: putting your items in your car trunk or truck bed, wearing a face mask at all times, staying inside your vehicle, and paying with a credit or debit card, if possible, for contactless payment.
The municipality of Bethel Park is hosting the event, which is conducted by the Pennsylvania Resources Council.
