Applications due for PT police academy
Applications for the Peters Township Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy are due Feb. 28.
Forms can be dropped off or mailed to the police station, located at 200 Municipal Dr., McMurray. They can also be faxed to 724-942-5004 or emailed to Sgt. Gary Orosz at georosz@peterstownship.com.
The nine-week program is designed to educate the public about the criminal justice system and provide insight into everyday police work.
Participants will be taught the basics of criminal law with emphasis on the crimes and vehicle codes, patrol tactics, the processing of crime scenes, interview and interrogation methods.
The course is held from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. Tuesdays beginning March 7 at the police department.
