Bethel Park Historical Society support Wreaths Across America mission locally
The Bethel Park Historical Society is hosting a National Wreaths Across America ceremony to raise awareness and ensure all veterans at Bethel Cemetery are honored.
The wreath-laying ceremony will be at 12 p.m. Dec. 18 at 2999 Bethel Church Road. A reception will follow at the historical society’s military museum, 2600 South Park Road.
The event is open to all veterans, active-duty military and their families, and the public.
“Our goal is to honor all of the 545 veterans at Bethel Cemetery,” Lisa Jenkins, who is chairing the ceremony, said. “The cost of each fresh balsam wreath with a red bow is $15, with $5 of the proceeds benefiting the Bethel Park Historical Society.”

“With each local event held across the country, volunteers help build community awareness and understanding of the organization’s yearlong mission to Remember, Honor, Teach,” Karen Worcester, Wreaths across America executive director, said.
“In light of the current health crisis, we feel events like this one have taken on even more meaning by providing the opportunity for people to safely participate in something which is both educational and fun, while supporting and giving back to the community when it is needed most.”
