The 20th just may have been the best for the Peters Township Fishing Derby

Optimal weather combined with substantial attendance Aug. 17 at Peters Lake Park to help celebrate two decades of the annual event for youngsters, presented by McMurray Rotary Club and the township’s parks and recreation department.

Prizes are awarded for the first fish caught, most fish and smallest and largest fish. This year, Jordan Toth and Daniel Trader tied for the most sizable catch at 11.75 inches.

Both received their prizes, but Daniel won a coin toss to take his home that day. All participants received gifts donated by local businesses.
