The Upper St. Clair High School Chanteclairs’ 25th annual Madrigal Dinner is scheduled for Dec. 5 in a revised format.
Enjoy a virtual skit and musical selections performed by the Chanteclairs, dressed in traditional Renaissance costumes, while you partake in a meal offered by the Upper St. Clair Choral Boosters, to be delivered to your home. Meals include chicken with savory stuffing, an elegant salad and two sides, along with cider and dessert.
All Upper St. Clair residents have the option to have the meal delivered to their home by a Madrigal performer. Non-Upper St. Clair residents and anyone else wishing to do so, can pick up the meal at the Upper St. Clair High School arts entrance between 5-5:30 p.m. on the day of the show.
The meal costs $25 per person. Tickets can be purchased online by Dec. 1 at https://forms.gle/wZtxAr9uz9MkS18B9.
Upper St. Clair’s Madrigal Dinner was first introduced in 1996, under the direction of Christine Hestwood. Originally, the event was held in the high school cafeteria. For the past several years, the event has been hosted in the social hall at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with sellout crowds of nearly 200 guests.
This year, the event will be streamed online.
The Chanteclairs, under the direction of Lorraine Milovac, is an auditioned ensemble selected from within the high school’s Pantheon Choir. In addition to the Madrigal Dinner, the Chanteclairs have participated in community events including Veterans Day, Upper St. Clair Hall of Fame Induction, holiday performances, competitions, invitationals and high school choral concerts throughout the school year.
