Erin Wells, Kriti Kulkarni and Suhavi Singh of Upper St. Clair can add published poets to their list of achievements.

A seventh-grade student at Fort Couch Middle School, Wells was selected for publication in the Creative Communication Poetic Power Contest. This marks the second time this year that Erin has achieved this honor.

Her poem “Coastal Whispers” will be included in the organization’s anthology, “A Celebration of Poets.”

Kulkarni had her writing “Pencil vs. Pen” included in the collection. She is a 9-year-old, fourth-grade student at Baker Elementary School taught by Kelsey O’Leary.

Singh had her composition “Freely Free” published. She is a sixth-grade student at Boyce Middle School.

According to a notification from Creative Communication, “this is an honor, as most students are not invited to be published. This publication brings together the best student authors in the United States.”

According to its website, “Creative Communication is devoted to the promotion of writing, teaching and appreciation of student writing. The intent of our student writing contests is to motivate student writers. The top entries are published in an anthology that will record the creative insights of today’s student writers.”
