BP’s Guenther leads synchronized swimmers

Adelyn Guenther helped the Pittsburgh Synchronized Swimming Club start its fourth competitive year on a positive note.

The Bethel Park resident won the 10 and under intermediate solo routine during the technical final championships at the 2020 Middle Atlantic Meet held at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg.

Guenther combined with Leah Keen of Mt. Lebanon for second place in the 13-15 duet routine while teammates Ava Arnold and Avery Miller, both of Bethel Park, took third. In the team competition, Guenther combined with Keen Arnold and Miller for third.

Arnold, Keen and Miller won the 13-15 trio division while Roxie Fink, Grace Mattila and Charlotte Nortman finished third at 10 and under.

In the figures competition event, Guenther was third for 10 and under and sixth at 12 and under while Keen and Arnold took third and sixth for the 13-15 age group.

The competition featured four other teams from Cumberland, Freedom, Pennsbury and York. The PSS squad features seven athletes, who reside in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh, including Peters Township.
